Rangers, with manager Steven Gerrard and several players absent after a Covid outbreak, made it seven derbies in a row without losing. The victory moves Rangers to within a point of Hibernian and Hearts at the summit. Celtic are now in sixth place after two defeats in four matches. Rangers crashed out of the Champions League after losing to 10-man Malmo at Ibrox. The 2021 Scottish Premiership champions levelled the  tie on aggregate with Alfredo Morelos's goal, and at times looked well placed when Malmo's Bonke Innocent was sent off before half-time. Antonio Colak then changed the outcome of the when  he scored two goals in four minutes early in the second half.
