SPFL: How good are Celtic?

After a difficult 2020/2021 season, Celtic have played some great football at times this campaign They have also shown some inconsistencies and were once again knocked out of the Champions League at an early stage. A defeat against Rangers would have also been a huge disappointment. Let's have a think about how good they actually here. Rangers beat Celtic at a packed Ibrox

Rangers, with manager Steven Gerrard and several players absent after a Covid outbreak, made it seven derbies in a row without losing. The victory moves Rangers to within a point of Hibernian and Hearts at the summit. Celtic are now in sixth place after two defeats in four matches. Ange Postecoglou has now become the first Celtic manager since Tony Mowbray in 2009 to lose his first Old Firm derby. Watch the video below to see and hear some reaction from Rangers. Ross County 2 - 4 Rangers

Steven Gerrard told the media that his Rangers side needs to be more ruthless.  They began a massive week with a 4-2 victory over Ross County.  (Footage below courtesy of the SPFL.) Let's look back at an interesting weekend of Scottish football Celtic 6 - 0 Dundee Kyogo Furuhashi scored three as Celtic thrashed Dundee to give Ange Postecoglou a fantastic first Scottish Premiership victory in front of 24,500 fan. Despite a difficult and troubling start to life in Scotland, Postecoglou was given a warm reception from those allowed into the stadium as the Australian took charge of his first home league game. Dundee United 1 - 0 Rangers Rangers long unbeaten run is over! Pre-Season: Hibernian 2 - 1 Arsenal

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal side lost their pre-season opener at Easter Road Goals from Martin Boyle and Daniel Mackay gave hosts advantage; Nicolas Pepe had late penalty saved before Emile Smith Rowe grabbed late consolation; Arsenal's pre-season continues at Rangers on Saturday afternoon.
