Brentford kept their second successive clean sheet as their impressive start to life in the Premier League continued. The Bees named an unchanged starting eleven from that win against Arsenal, but offered little attacking threat in the opening stages. Ivan Toney went close with a shot from distance. The Brentford manager tiold Match Of The Day: “I think we slightly edged it to be the better side. We won the ball a lot of times in good areas, but we didn’t have the quality to put a good counter-attack chance together. “We ended the first half on top, which pleased me in many ways. We need a little bit more confidence and composure. The second weekend of the Premier League season is almost here. There could be even more goals this weekend.  Let's have a quick look at where they might come from. Brentford celebrated their arrival in the Premier League with a superb victory over Arsenal as they opened their league campaign in style. We have previously asked if Brentford can survive and thrive in the Premier League.   Judging from the highlights in the video below, it looks like they can! Brentford fans celebrated wildly at full time. This was a result and performance that instantly turns the spotlight on Mikel Arteta. He certainly needs an improvement on last season and this was an appalling start to the campaign. Pre-Season: AFC Wimbledon 0 - 1 Brentford

Brentford began their pre-season campaign with a 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon A single goal late in the first half was enough to give Brentford the victory. More football news The game was played in some intense conditions and the first half failed to capture the imagination, but Brentford scored in the dying moments. The second period was much livelier and threatened further goals, but none came in the end. The goal came as Brentford started to take control of the game. While The Bees would probably have wanted to do more in attack, they were solid at the back. David Raya was untroubled and as the half wore on,  After a fairly dull start to the game, the Premier League side eventually started to play more on the front foot and in Wimbledon territory.
