Transfer deadline day happens twice a season and is always a crazy day.  Who can forget Dimitar Berbatov moving to Manchester United in August 2008? Or how about Mesut Özil moving to Arsenal in 2013? Brentford celebrated their arrival in the Premier League with a superb victory over Arsenal as they opened their league campaign in style. We have previously asked if Brentford can survive and thrive in the Premier League.   Judging from the highlights in the video below, it looks like they can! Brentford fans celebrated wildly at full time. This was a result and performance that instantly turns the spotlight on Mikel Arteta. He certainly needs an improvement on last season and this was an appalling start to the campaign. Pre-Season: Rangers 2 - 2 Arsenal

Arsenal had to settle for a draw in their second pre-season friendly, despite creating many chances in an entertaining match at Ibrox. In their previous match, they lost 2-1 against Hibernian FC so this was a much improved performance and result.  Leon Balogun had headed Rangers ahead early on, but Arsenal struck back when new signing Nuno Tavares burst into the box to fire home right-footed. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang came close to giving The Gunners the lead on several occasions before Rangers scored again from a corner in the second half. Pre-Season: Hibernian 2 - 1 Arsenal

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal side lost their pre-season opener at Easter Road Goals from Martin Boyle and Daniel Mackay gave hosts advantage; Nicolas Pepe had late penalty saved before Emile Smith Rowe grabbed late consolation; Arsenal's pre-season continues at Rangers on Saturday afternoon.
