Manchester United
United strengthened their defence with the signing of Varane and brought some extra quality with the signings of Jadon Sancho and the returning hero Cristiano Ronaldo. Critics would argue that they are still a world class defensive midfielder away from leading the charge in domestic and European competitions.

Manchester City
The signing of Jack Grealish was great but many would argue that their lack of proven goalscorer could prove costly. Although others would point out that they have just scored ten in two matches so who needs a centre forward?
Chelsea
The European champions are now many people's favourite to win the Premier League after their additions. They proved their attacking quality against Arsenal but proved they can defend well after they earned a point at Anfield despite spending more than half the game with ten men.
Other transfer stories from the summer
Tottenham keeping hold of Harry Kane is a massive boost for them. Arsenal spent a lot but still look a way off challenging for honours. It's also worth looking at which players will prove to be the biggest bargains.
The arguments regarding who 'won' the t transfer window will go on. You don't get a trophy for spending wisely though and we await what could prove to be a fascinating title race.
